Two Shadows

Two Shadows
By: Mr. N.E.B.

I often times look at the shadows in the street,
There was one that seemed to be following my feet.
There is only one shadow that never left.
The shadow that’s hopeful and all i did get.

One day, I met the woman that makes my heart beat,
The woman I thought of and I like bit by bit.
She is the one I always want to hold under the sun’s heat.
The woman that makes two shadows following my feet.

Goes the sunset of the day we may have,
Gone are the shadows and fled like a dove.
If there’s one thing I dream to have,
The return of the two shadows of love.

Oh, after the dawn is quite a long road to take,
Excited to see the sunrise I seek.
For I long the shadows it does make,
Alas! I get to see you when I am awake.

I thank thee for all the happiness we share,
With the guffaws that we’re not even aware.
I thank thee for the strengths, my dear,
And the promises that I will always bear.

Distance will not be the enemy of our heart,
Even when storms and plagues will start.
For our hearts are patient and willing to fight.
And the sun makes our shadows never part.

I may not hold you for now and the days to come
Just remember that we have forever to welcome.
